What is this?

Background Info:
So awhile back, I had a few bananas that were going to be too ripe too soon for my liking.  They weren't ripe enough for banana bread, but past the point I'd regularly eat it plain.  I love fruit smoothies, so I just decided to peel them and stick them in the freezer so I'd always have bananas on hand when I was craving a smoothie.  I learned the best way to make a smoothie. . . use frozen fruit.  Of course, I will take a smoothie in any way, shape, or form - whether the fruit is fresh or frozen.  However, the secret to a texture that is thick, creamy and wonderful is frozen bananas.  I even told my mom about my new find.

Today:
I was on Pinterest looking at a friend's board.  She posted a pin of 'guilt free' ice cream.  I looked at it, and the only ingredient in the recipe  was overripe bananas.  PERFECT.  I had two that never made it into the freezer.  Remember how I said frozen bananas make things thick, creamy and wonderful?  I just knew I had to see if this recipe was for real.  The very next thing I did was cut them up and put them in the freezer.

A Few Hours Later

I got out my roommate's food processor and made myself ice cream out of bananas.  The recipe stated only needing the bananas, but mine wasn't working as well.  It didn't look like the pictures online, so i put in a little vanilla extract and about a tablespoon of milk.  As soon as I did that, the consistency changed and it looked fantastic - like ice cream.  Then I divided my banana ice cream into two, because I wanted to try the peanut butter version like the one online, and I wanted to try it with strawberries.  Both were fantastic.  The banana flavor was definitely still there, but it was still quite delicious.

I just found my new favorite go-to dessert. Is it technically ice cream? No, but that is perfectly fine.

flashback

So as I was wasting time on Facebook, a 'recommended page' for me to 'like' popped up.  It was of Boys Like girls, and I had a flashback.  The flashback went something like 'Oh, I know them.  Once upon a time I went to California and was in their music video'.  Me. Crazy, right?  I know.

Coming Soon

If it seems like I have lost all motivation to blog, it's completely true.  I have... until now.  Pretty soon my blog will be much more exciting, so stay tuned.  :)

ps. HAPPY SPRING.  Spring is THE BEST SEASON EVER.

'tis the season

Right after Thanksgiving I had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit.  It still didn't seem like November had started since this year has flown by, and yet Thanksgiving was already over.  Luckily I have awesome friends who wanted to go to Temple Square a few days ago to see all the beautiful nativity sets and lights.  It was really, really cold and afterwards we drank hot chocolate.  What else would you do after seeing Christmas lights?  I think everyone has that tradition... but anyways, it helped me get into the Christmas spirit and ready for this Christmas season.  It truly is the happiest season of all.

I also had the opportunity to go to the Christmas Devotional at the Conference Center with my roommate and some friends.  It was great listening to the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I felt the spirit so strongly and I realized which gifts I have truly matter the most (immortality, forgiveness, eternal life, just to name a few).  Christmas is about JESUS CHRIST, and we should not get caught up in the stress and chaos of trying to find the perfect gift for someone, or thinking about what gifts we want to have.  I love Christmas, and I'm very excited that it's already this time of year.  19 days and counting...

Here are the pictures of the Devotional.

thankful...

I have so much to be thankful for.  What I'm most grateful for this year are my family, my education and attending the University of Utah, being a few weeks away from graduation, my good health, all my true friends and all the good people I have met in Salt Lake City.  I'm beyond grateful for my knowledge of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly parents, and my testimony of the Atonement.  I love this time of year and the joy this season brings.

Now, here are some fun pictures of my Thanksgiving Day.
